The carbon market continued to trade at weekly high levels on Friday, with December 25 EUA futures around the €76-76.50 mark. The December contract opened at €76.00 this morning, up from yesterday’s closing of €75.63.

Like most energy markets, today opened higher following the news that Israel launched air strikes against Iran. The initial move upwards having been on Thursday after a flat start to the week. Additional support has come from natural gas markets allowing EUAs to step out of the €70-73 range where they have been stuck for several weeks.
